~B&B~ Chapter 2nd-Half-Of-12
The funny thing about this chapter is that part of it has actually been on my LJ for months, on public view, the only entry under the tag “Yehsung”. It’s been a good source of amusement for me, because anyone could have seen it if they’d looked.... ^^;;. Also, I’ve decided to cut out half of the chapters I’d been planning, because to be honest I’m actually kind of growing sick of this fic ^^;;. Unbeta'ed. Tell me where any errors are.

Yehsung gritted his teeth, barely refraining from taking his own pocketknife from his vest. It was too late now, and he would never be fast enough… The pirate would react too quickly.
The knife slipped gently beneath the chain, and the pirate pulled the delicate pendant forward so he could see it in clearer light. He began to laugh to himself, mouth twisted in a horrible sneer.

“I’ll be sure to say hello to her for you… before I kill her…”

“Leave Ryeowook alo…“

Blood stained the deck
, and Yehsung watched in fuzzy horror as the pirate fell to the floor.

“Are you okay?”

Urgency tinged the voice, but Yehsung didn’t answer, instead choosing to lean his back against the wall and stare blurrily at the knife protruding from his enemy’s back. He gasped a little, closing his eyes in pain, clutching at the locket that hung still and cold around his neck.

He felt a strong pair of arms take him by the elbows, and guide him into the room beside them; the lanterns on the sides of the captains quarters swinging to the tune of the battle overhead. He dazedly followed his saviour’s instructions and sat on one of the scattered chairs lining the table with the map lying atop it and drank from a tiny bottle, one that his new friend had offered. His eyes started to go a little black around the edges.

“You have a pair of caterpillars on your face” Yehsung helpfully informed the man now tearing away his shirt in a hurry to inspect his bullet wound. He marvelled a little at how his eyesight snapped back into focus. “Great, big, black furry ones.”

Skilled fingers found blood, and ripped away pieces of fabric to use as a makeshift bandage. The newcomer looked worried.

“Huge ones.” Wince. “Right where your eyebrows should be.”

Silence, then the man pulled him to his feet. The great windows that surrounded the captain’s quarters had shattered sometime during the previous fray, and it was here that a staggering Yehsung was lead to look out over the swirling ocean; the moon glittered peacefully in the sky, as though mocking, somehow, the horror that was occurring below its gaze. Yehsung looked down, then up, then at the moon again. Land rippled in the moonlight.

Then they jumped, and water swirled up to meet them.

Yehsung was on watch that morning, and he fiddled with a seashell he’d found while staring fixedly at the horizon.

It had been quite some time since the wreck, and the wound on Yehsung’s stomach had healed with careful help from his new friend. All that remained to show it had been there was a tiny scar, that looked more like a birth mark than anything else. As soon as it had healed, he’d offered to help Siwon in gathering food and watching for ships, and thus he today found himself sitting on a little outcrop of rock that ran from the mainland in a long, jagged line.

He tossed the shell and watched it fall in a little rock pool nearby, wondering what Ryeowook would be doing now, at this very moment... Wondering whether he’d found someone else who love him. But he was distracted by something coming over the horizon, quickly – Faster than the clouds – and he stood and ran back to where a large pile of wood was covered with a sail that had washed in from the ships so long ago.

He called for Siwon, hoping vainly that the younger man could hear him, and pulled the sail away. He snatched up a piece of glass and prayed that he would be able to light the leaves that served as tinder, and nearly cried when the flames caught.

That ship was their ticket off the island, and, eventually, back home.

The castle looked entirely different with light flooding in through the windows, as opposed to how it had looked in candle light. The rich tapestries and deep coloured furnishings appeared almost cheerful, and Eeteuk almost began to wonder whether the Beast had been real, or just a figment of a terrible dream. However, when the door to the giant dining room opened in a silent beckon, he smiled and shook his head, announcing that he would prefer to eat in his own room. It paused for a moment, then slid closed before a strong breeze hurried past him and up the winding staircase.

Eeteuk almost thought he saw something in the wind, but shook his head and thought nothing more of it.

It was after he had eaten his lunch – A delicious ensemble of foods he’d never ley eyes on – Eeteuk had found himself staring out the window into the woods. It was a wonder that none of the birds had found these trees and flowers, and his mind drew back to Soojin in his cage.
“I wonder why,” he said, tilting his head and considering the little ledge outside his window. “This place seems like a bird’s heaven... Surely He hasn’t banned them from coming?”

But to be sure, he spread all the crumbs from his food on the ledge and left the window open, before leaving to take Heechul out for a walk.

The first thing he noticed, however, was a wilting, dying rose on the stable door.

The captain of the Hope was certainly pleased to find two men on the island. The fact that they knew the general whereabouts of the island they were stranded on meant that the crew could then decipher a way to get back to home port.

Their merchant master surely would be pleased.

Oh, and yeah, Hope is the last boat of Papa's to have gone missing and not sunk. It went missing near where the Miracle sunk, if you read carefully XDD;;

Well the ship needs repairs before it can go that far, right? *Blinks*

Lets say that now the whole fic will suddenly go very very quickly ^^;;
Nhiavirjin on October 9th, 2008 04:31 am (UTC)
Ah. I suppose. XDDD.

Very quickly? That sounds good too. ^_^v
Let's see, all you need left is Geng, right? But that's if EunHae counts as the breeze. >_>; If it's only one of them, then... I have to make more guesses. XD!
